Event Notes: Altenberg, Germany To Host 2020 Bobsleigh & Skeleton World Championships

Altenberg, Germany will be the host for the 2020 IBSF Bobsleigh & Skeleton World Championships. The IBSF made the decision at its annual congress in London on Sunday. Altenberg previously hosted the men's World Championships in the two and four-man bobsleigh in '91 and '00, and in skeleton in '94 and '99 (IBSF).

A "suspicious package was found at the Stade de France" two hours before the match before the match between Ireland and Sweden for Euro 2016. A controlled explosion was reportedly "carried out after the stadium's Gate H level was evacuated" (RT, 6/13).
