FERNANDO GOMES was re-elected for a second term as president of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). Gomes, a member of the UEFA exec committee, singled out transparency as the main objective of this new term. He said, "Simplicity is football's main asset and things have to be as simple off the field of play as they are on it" (UEFA). ... BeIN Media Group announced the appointment of MIKE KERR to the position of managing director, Asia. The announcement comes as the beIN Media Group continues to expand its reach in the Asian region. Kerr joins beIN from the Asian Tour where he held the position of CEO since '12. Prior to joining the Asian Tour, Kerr spent 12 years at ESPN Star Sports, most recently in the role as VP of affiliate and multimedia sales (beIN Media Group). ... Octagon bolstered its Asia Pacific operation with a restructure of its regional management team and the return of BEN HARTMAN to lead the organization APAC-wide from Sydney. The restructure has seen Hartman, a 10-year veteran of Octagon, return as managing director of APAC responsible for Octagon operations pan-regionally, supported by a key regional team based in Singapore. To support the growth, Hartman elevated Singapore-based Regional Strategy Dir ADAM HODGE to the newly created head of strategy, APAC and appointed LIZI HAMER as Octagon’s regional creative director. Hodge’s role will cover research and fan insights, as well as leading creative strategy for clients and teams across the region, working closely with Hamer and the management team to drive the growth of the agency. Previously at Arcade, Hamer was named Top 20 Women to Watch in Asia by Campaign Asia and has a resume that includes time with Saatchi & Saatchi, Sapient Nitro and McCann (Octagon).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Paraguayan JOSÉ CARDOZO was officially named the coach of Liga MX side Jaguares de Chiapas. Cardozo replaces RICARDO LA VOLPE (NOTIMEX, 6/7). ... Former Spain int'l FERNANDO HIERRO "has been appointed as the new head coach" at Spanish second division side Real Oviedo. Hierro, who was capped 89 times for his country and played in four World Cups, "has agreed a one-year deal with the option of a further season for what will be his first full managerial role." The 48-year-old worked as assistant coach under CARLO ANCELOTTI at Real Madrid, "technical director for the Spain Football Federation and general manager at Malaga" (SKY SPORTS, 6/8). ... NEIL LENNON "agreed a deal" to become the next Scottish Championship side Hibernian manager and should formally sign a contract on Wednesday. The former Celtic boss "has been out of work since parting company with Bolton in March" but will succeed ALAN STUBBS. Stubbs "left for Rotherham United last week after two seasons in charge and having just won the Scottish Cup." It is believed Lennon -- who wants GARRY PARKER as his number two -- "will sign a one-year rolling deal to become the highest-paid manager in Hibs' history" (BBC, 6/8).
