Marketplace Roundup: Handball Side Füchse Berlin Gets Three-Year Shirt Deal

Handball Bundesliga (HBL) club Füchse Berlin agreed to a new shirt sponsorship deal with Deutsche Wohnen. The club, which had to play without a shirt sponsor for the past year, will feature the real estate company's logo on its jersey starting with '16-17 season. The three-year deal will run until the end of the '18-19 season (Füchse Berlin). Deutsche Wohnen will pay an estimated €600,000 ($681,000) per year for the rights. The amount "is more than double what Spar mit! Reisen paid before it decided to end its deal with the club in '15." Spar mit! Reisen paid a reported €280,000 annually to the club (SPONSORs, 6/6).

INT'L GOLF EXPANSION: ISPS HANDA expanded its involvement in int'l golf via a five-year partnership with the PGA of Australia. The philanthropic organization will become the naming partner of the PGA Tour of Australasia until '21. The ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia sanctions 17 tournaments across five countries (PGA). 

TELECOM TIE-UP: South Africa Rugby announced it was partnering with Blue Label Telecoms for the Castle Lager Incoming series against Ireland. The telecom and tech company will partner with the Springboks for the three-Test series of matches in Cape Town (June 11), Johnannesburg (June 18) and Port Elizabeth (June 25). Blue Label Telecoms' name and branding will appear on the Springbok's jersey for the series as well as in a number of on-and off-field areas (SA Rugby).

Global fantasy sports platform Mondogoal announced the addition of Championship side Aston Villa as its latest partner. Since the platform's launch in '14, over £1.5M ($2.2M) in cash prizes have been won by fantasy players. The platform is already offering cash prizes through its partners using the adoption of a new form of engagement (Mondogoal). 

The French Professional Football League (LFP) and uhlsport unveiled the new match ball for the Ligue 2 ’16-17 season. Uhlsport is an official provider for Ligue 2, a partner with the LFP, the official ball provider of the Coupe de la Ligue and will be the official ball of Ligue 1 starting with the ’17-18 season (LFP).
