Adidas Set To Cash In On José Mourinho's Arrival At Manchester United

José Mourinho's arrival at ManU "is a huge bonus" for kit supplier adidas, whose £750M ($1B) Old Trafford contract is its biggest sporting deal, according to Charles Sale of the London DAILY MAIL. Mourinho "is an enthusiastic global ambassador for the German brand and has a close friendship" with CEO Herbert Hainer. Now adidas has the "dream scenario" of being able "to plan major advertising campaigns around both manager Mourinho and his team." Mourinho's preferred casual outfits "are invariably drawn from the adidas Porsche Design Sport range" -- so much so that he wore that apparel at the FIFA Congress opening ceremony in Mexico City this month when almost everyone else being presented on stage appeared in suits. Mourinho "has also just added to his enormous wealth by becoming the face of Atlantis Hotels" -- a luxury five-star chain in the Middle East, Asia and China (DAILY MAIL, 5/24).
