Interim Manager Guus Hiddink To Remain With Chelsea In Advisory Role

Chelsea interim Manager Guus Hiddink "has confirmed he will remain at the club in an advisory role, which will concentrate on developing youngsters into the first team," according to Richard Arrowsmith of the London DAILY MAIL. The "affable Dutchman stepped in for a second temporary stint at Stamford Bridge after the sacking of Jose Mourinho" during "the worst" title defense in Premier League history. The 69-year-old "steadied the club, but will make way for Italy coach Antonio Conte in the summer." Hiddink "confirmed he would be staying on -- while also revealing" he had spoken to Blues "legends" Didier Drogba and Petr Cech about "returning once they have finished their playing careers." Hiddink: "They have had much impact here. Once they are really finished their playing career, they can be of great value to the club, such as assistant or scout" (DAILY MAIL, 5/22).
