Marketplace Roundup: Cycling Australia, Subaru Extending Partnership Through '17

Cycling Australia and Subaru announced an extension of their partnership through to '17. The extension of the arrangement, which began in '12, will continue Subaru's position as the official automotive partner of Cycling Australia. Subaru will also continue as naming rights sponsor of the Subaru National Road Series, Australia's domestic road series for men and women. Subaru also extended its cycling arrangement to partner with the Australian teams at future UCI Track & Road World Championships, with the Subaru logo appearing on the apparel for both teams (Cycling Australia). 

ONE FOR THE LADIES: Australian W-League side Sydney FC signed Workplace Law as the club's W-League major partner for the '16-17 season. A specialist law firm, Workplace Law will receive a range of benefits from its one-year partnership, with its logo to be featured on the front of the Sydney FC home and away shorts and sleeves as well as on coaches' apparel. Already active in the A-League as a player partner for int'l player Filip Holosko for the '15-16 season, this is Workplace Law's first foray into the women's game (Sydney FC). 

MARKETING BRIEFS ... 
Aviva
confirmed that it will "end its sponsorship of Premiership Rugby after next season, having been the league’s title sponsor" since '10. The insurance firm initially signed a four-year deal worth £20M ($29M) to "replace Guinness as the Premiership’s main sponsor" and then signed a three-year extension in May '13 but has "opted not to renew the sponsorship this time around" (RUNNING RUGBY, 5/12).

Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach signed a new sponsorship deal with Chinese smartphone producer ZTE. The company will become the club's eighth co-sponsor and official smartphone provider for the next two years until June 30, 2018 (Borussia Mönchengladbach).

Ligue 1 side Lille OSC announced the renewal of its partnership with camping travel agency Vacansoleil in a deal brokered by Infront Sports & Media for the ’16-17 season. Vacansoleil will continue to benefit from marketing activations and remains on the back of Lille’s jersey, for the third consecutive season (Lille).

French Pro A basketball club Asvel renewed its partnership with French online retailer LDLC.com. The deal sees LDLC.com remain the club’s major partner for the next four years until ’20. As a major partner, LDLC.com’s logo continues to be featured on the front of the club’s jersey. No financials were released (Asvel).

French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco announced the renewal of its partnerships with manufacturing and distribution group SAM Lailailai. SAM Lailailai owns water company Orezza and boules equipment manufacturer KTK. Orezza will continue to be Monaco’s official water partner and have its logo on the club’s shorts. KTK will become the club’s leisure activities partner, and will release boules balls with Monaco branding (AS Monaco).

Singer Marc Anthony is expanding the sports division of entertainment company Magnus Media. Magnus Media signed two Real Madrid players on to the project: team captain Sergio Ramos and left back Marcelo Vieira (LATIN TIMES, 5/10).
