Rio Ferdinand, Thierry Henry To Join BBC's Euro 2016 Coverage

Former England captain Rio Ferdinand and French World Cup winner Thierry Henry are among the TV pundits for the BBC's coverage of Euro 2016. They will join BBC regulars Gary Lineker, Gabby Logan and Alan Shearer for 26 live matches. Every game broadcast on TV and Radio 5 live will be simulcast on the BBC Sport website and app. Former England midfielder Frank Lampard and ex-Germany striker Jürgen Klinsmann will also make multi-platform contributions across the four-week tournament, which starts on June 10 and is being hosted by France (BBC).

NEW GIG? In London, Jack Gaughan wrote ITV is "hopeful of luring Ryan Giggs" to form part of its European Championship punditry team. The ManU assistant manager "was quickly earmarked as a star the broadcaster wanted to land and talks are understood to have progressed well." Nothing has been signed as yet, with ITV set to announce its full line-up "closer to the tournament’s start in France." Giggs "previously shied away from media opportunities and getting a deal over the line would represent a coup" (DAILY MAIL, 5/9).
