Bundesliga side Hannover 96 President Martin Kind "has increased his stake in Hannover 96 Sales & Service," according to Gabriel Wagner of SPONSORs. Kind "has taken over the shares of fellow shareholder Detlev Meyer, who held a 25.69% stake in S&S." Kind "now owns a majority stake of 52.73%." S&S "is in charge of the club's ticketing and merchandise, among other things." The purchase price "was not revealed." The company's total capital was recently estimated at €25M ($28.5M). Kind: "The new majority structure makes it easier to make quick decisions and enables tight, efficient processes." Due to the German Football League (DFL) compromise, S&S "will be able to take over the first team department -- which was separated from the main club -- in '18 after the company has had an uninterrupted involvement in the club for 20 years." The compromise "supersedes the DFL's 50+1 rule, which keeps control of the clubs with the membership." Kind is expected to file the corresponding paperwork for a takeover in '17 with the DFL (SPONSORs, 5/6).
