Argentina coach GERARDO MARTINO said that LIONEL MESSI will prepare with the squad in Buenos Aires for June's Copa America Centenario, "before flying back to Catalonia to give evidence in a tax case" and then traveling to the U.S. for his team's first game in the competition. Messi and his father "are due to appear before a judge at the Audiencia de Barcelona on June 2." Argentina's Copa America campaign begins on June 6 against Chile (ESPN, 5/4).

CUSITER RETIRES: Premiership rugby side Sale Sharks scrum-half CHRIS CUSITER "has retired from rugby union to start a Scotch whisky business in Los Angeles." Cusiter won 70 Test caps for Scotland from '04-14, and also "played six times for the British and Irish Lions during their 2005 tour of New Zealand." He said, "This is the right time to hang up my boots and move onto the next challenge. ... I've been fascinated by the Scotch whisky industry for the past few years and firmly believe that it is Scotland's finest and greatest export and something to be very proud of" (BBC, 5/4).
