Rihanna and the Chemical Brothers "will perform" at the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix later this year. The two acts "will be part of the Yasalam After-Race Concerts at Yas Island’s du Arena during the Formula One weekend."
Rihanna "is playing the prestigious final race-day concert" on Nov. 27. The Barbadian pop star was in '15 named as the best-selling digital singles artist of all-time, "clocking sales of more than 100 million."
The show "marks the 28-year-old’s third performance in the capital." The Chemical Brothers will perform on Nov. 25. Promoter Flash Entertainment said that a headliner for Nov. 26 "will be announced before Ramadan begins." Promoters added that Beats on the Beach, held at the Abu Dhabi Corniche, "will also return" (THE NATIONAL, 5/3).
The Asian Tour said that the Thailand-hosted King's Cup "will mark its return to the schedule after a one-year absence in the last week of July" as a co-sanctioned event with the European Tour.
The tournament, held in honor of the Thai monarch, "will be played at the Phoenix Gold Golf Club in Pattaya" from July 28-31 and carry a prize purse of $750,000. The field "will comprise 90 players from the Asian Tour, 25 from the European Tour and 25 from the Thailand PGA" (REUTERS, 5/3).
The 2017 men's and women's World Squash Championships "will have equal prize money for the first time."
The men's and women's champions will each take home $45,000.

Pakistan Cricket Board Chair Shaharyar Khan on Saturday said that the West Indies Cricket Board "agreed to play a day-night Test in the ‘home’ series in the UAE in September-October." Khan said, "I haven't seen their [WICB] letter as yet but yes apparently they have said yes to playing one day and night test with the pink ball in the UAE."
