Gillette Releases First Rio Olympic Spot With Endorsers Including Neymar, Ashton Eaton

IOC TOP sponsor Gillette "released a new :30 second spot as part of its new Olympic campaign as well as its global roster of athletes," according to Darren Heitner of FORBES. Gillette announced partnerships "with four prominent professional athletes in the unveiling of its first advertisement" as part of the Rio Games -- Brazilian football player Neymar, U.S. decathlete Ashton Eaton, Chinese swimmer Ning Zetao and British cyclist Andy Tenant. A few of the deals between athletes and Gillette have "been in place for some time, but Gillette waited" for the Rio Games "in order to activate." The brand's first Rio Games-related campaign is titled, "Perfect Isn’t Pretty," which "honors the arduous journey that Olympians face throughout their training as they pursue gold" (FORBES, 4/12).
