Phillip Island Circuit will remain on the MotoGP World Championship calendar until '26 and on the FIM Superbike World Championship calendar until '27. Dorna, the Phillip Island Circuit and the local Victorian Government all came to the agreement in light of the success of the event. An estimated 85,000 spectators converged on Phillip Island for the 2015 Pramac Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, while more than 42,000 turned out for the 2016 WorldSBK race (WorldSBK).

Australian Football League CEO Gillon McLachlan will travel to Shanghai on Wednesday, joining Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull and Port Adelaide Chair David Koch and CEO Keith Thomas in a major sponsorship announcement, "another off-field coup for the Power." While McLachlan and Thomas refused to "give details of the lucrative new deal, the Port expansion has already broken new ground" with the club broadcasting games into China through a separate contract with China Central Television (THE AGE, 4/11).
