UEFA Europa League Broadcast Makes History As More Than 5.5 Million Watch On Sport1

The UEFA Europa League matchup between Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool "set a new ratings record for Sport1," according to Nils Lehnebach of SPONSORs. The 1-1 draw on Thursday recorded 5.68 million viewers. It was the "highest viewership figure in Sport1's history." The previous record also featured Borussia Dortmund. In '93, when Sport1 was still called DSF, the UEFA Cup semifinal between Dortmund and Auxerre drew 4.88 million viewers. Thursday's broadcast obtained a 19.1% market share. In the target demographic 14-49, the first leg of the quarterfinal drew 1.76 million viewers and had a 16.1% share (SPONSORs, 4/8).
