More Than 8.5 Million Viewers Tune In To Watch Champions League Match On ZDF

German public broadcaster ZDF "recorded more than 8.5 million viewers for its broadcast of the Champions League game between VfL Wolfsburg and Real Madrid," according to Manuel Weis of QUOTENMETER. An average of 8.63 million viewers tuned in to watch Wednesday's game starting at 8:45pm. It "was the highest rated Champions League game of Wolfsburg in history." The figure translated into a market share of 28.7%. In the target demographic 14-49, Wolfsburg's 2-0 win obtained a 22.4% market share. Following the live broadcast, ZDF showed highlights of the game between Paris St. Germain and Man City. The game summary, which started at 10:50pm, drew 6.74 million viewers and had a 31% share (QUOTENMETER, 4/7).

IN FRANCE: L’ÉQUIPE reported beIN Sports has achieved another record audience “thanks to Wednesday’s Champions League quarterfinals match” between Paris St. Germain and Man City. The match, which resulted in a 2-2 tie, drew an “average audience of 1.51 million viewers with a peak audience of 1.65 million.” PSG has helped beIN Sports “record its three largest audience figures on record this season” (L’ÉQUIPE, 4/7).
