Two New Zealand radio presenters "have been suspended after broadcasting a phone call" from cricketer BEN STOKES' mom when she believed she was "off air." DEBORAH STOKES called to "complain about criticism of her son's showing in England's World Twenty20 final defeat." After being told she was off air she said she was "totally brassed off" about the hosts' "personal attack" (BBC, 4/6). ... Olympic and double world hammer champion TATYANA LYSENKO "has become the latest athlete from Russia to be suspended for doping." The IAAF, which governs athletics, said the London 2012 Gold Medalist "had tested positive for a banned substance" (BBC, 4/5). ... League Championship side Leeds United Dir EDOARDO CELLINO has been charged with misconduct by the FA "over offensive remarks he made to a fan via Facebook." In the private message exchange last month, the son of club Owner MASSIMO CELLINO reportedly called a supporter a "spastic" and a "moron" (PA, 4/6).  

COURTS SEIZE CARS: Former Formula 1 and IndyCar driver EMERSON FITTIPALDI has had "legendary racing cars from his private collection seized amid reports of deep financial problems." Fittipaldi, one of Brazil's "most famous racing names and a two-time F1 world champion," has reportedly accumulated debts to the tune of $27M. Officials reportedly seized Fittipaldi's 1989 Indy 500-winning car from his offices and museum, as well as the Copersucar F1 car that he raced in '75 (AUTOWEEK, 4/5).

NO THANKS: ManU Manager LOUIS VAN GAAL "has turned down an offer from the Dutch FA to become their director of football." But his decision not to take up the role in the Netherlands "does not necessarily mean he is staying on at Old Trafford." The Dutch FA believed van Gaal could "help reinvigorate the set up and restore Holland's credibility." The Netherlands' top brass "created the creator of football for Van Gaal and offered him the post." But during the int'l break from his ManU duties it is understood that he "turned down the opportunity" (MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS, 4/6).

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown. SBJ’s Tom Friend also joins the show to share his insights into NBA viewership trends.
