Marketplace Roundup: China's National Team Renews Sponsorship Deal With Yanjing Beer

The Chinese football team "renewed its official sponsorship deal with Yanjing Beer." The four-year extension will run from '16 to '19, with "Yanjing continuing as the official sponsor of the national football team." The pair’s previous agreement, which commenced in '11, "was due to expire." The extension "was signed between Yanjing Beer and the China Football Industry Development Corporation, Team China’s marketing agent." No financial terms "have been disclosed" (YUTANG SPORTS, 3/28). 

Insurance group Ergo "will end its shirt sponsorship deal" with the German Handball Federation (DHB). Ergo "confirmed it will not renew its deal with the federation, which is set to expire this summer." The insurance company has been a second tier "Premium Partner" of the DHB since '07. Ergo paid an estimated €400,000 ($448,000) for the rights (SPONSORs, 3/29).
