ManU To Increase Capacity At Old Trafford To 80,000 To Meet New Regulations

ManU is reportedly "ready to expand Old Trafford’s capacity to hold 80,000 people," according to George Bellshaw of METRO. The club is being forced to make changes to England’s biggest ground to "adhere to regulations." The new regulations will see ManU increase its disabled section, "which will lead to a decrease in the overall capacity." That work is set to take place in '17. The club is considering adding an extra 7,500 seats above the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand. The capacity will then be roughly 80,000 with a "further option to build two more quadrants, which could boost capacity by another 4,000 each" (METRO, 3/28).
