CSM Sports & Enterainment Adds Matt Grandis To Continue Push Into U.S.

CSM Sports & Entertainment has hired MATT GRANDIS as its Senior VP of Business Development in North America. In the newly created role, Grandis will help develop the North American operations of the U.K.-based agency. "That encompasses a variety of things," he said. "One, helping all the properties that we represent and own the rights to throughout the marketplace, as well as helping support the agencies that we own. Out of the marketplace also building the CSM brand and telling our overall global story and ways in which we can support brands, properties, etc. across all our capabilities." CSM currently has three U.S.-based companies in its portfolio. It acquired motorsports agency JMI in '13, sponsorship sales agency SJX Partners in '14 and only last month added live event and activations agency JHE Production. Grandis joined CSM only two weeks ago and will work out of the agency's N.Y. office. He will report to SJX Partners CEO HARLAN STONE and CSM Group Managing Dir SOPHIE GOLDSCHMIDT. For the past three years, Grandis worked as VP of corporate partnerships & media at Ascendent Sports Group, which is part of RSE Ventures. Prior to his time at Ascendent, he was senior director of national sales at IMG College. CSM Group CMO TIM BAMPTON told SBD Global bringing Grandis on board is "further evidence of how seriously we are taking the U.S."
