Adidas is proposing that Egyptian tycoon NASSEF SAWIRIS and a representative of Belgium's richest man ALBERT FRERE "join its supervisory board after both took significant stakes in the German sportswear group." Adidas said on Wednesday that the supervisory board was proposing that Sawiris and IAN GALLIENNE, the head of Frere's holding company Groupe Bruxelles Lambert, be elected at the company's May 12 annual general meeting for a three-year term. Sawiris and Frere "have both taken stakes" of more than 5% in the world's second biggest sportswear firm in the last year (REUTERS, 3/2). ... Legends named USTA Managing Dir of Ticketing & Digital Strategy NICOLE JETER WEST to the newly created position of CMO. Jeter West was at the USTA for the past five years and was a member of SBJ/SBD's Forty Under 40 class in '15. She also spent nine years at MSG in the NBA N.Y. Knicks’ marketing department. In her new role at Legends, she will be part of the management team leading all aspects of the firm’s marketing and brand vision. Jeter West will report to Legends President SHERVIN MIRHASHEMI (Don Muret, Staff Writer). ... Paris 2024 Bid Committee Co-Chair BERNARD LAPASSET confirmed that he will not seek re-election as chair of World Rugby this year and will solely focus on his role leading Paris’ campaign for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Lapasset: "After careful consideration I have taken the decision not to seek a further term of office as chairman of World Rugby. My decision will allow me to devote more time to my role as co-chairman of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Bid" (Paris 2024). ... MP & Silva announced the appointment of YUN YONG-CHUL for the newly created role as associate director (Asia Pacific). Yong-Chul will be based in Kuala Lumpur, and is responsible for exploring new commercial and sponsorship opportunities while managing MP & Silva’s marketing rights partnership with Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership, Garena and the World Baseball Softball Confederation, among others. Yong-Chul has been in the sports marketing industry for 14 years and he has been involved with int’l football since ’03. He joins MP & Silva following his five-year stint as the head of marketing operations with the Asian Football Confederation (MP & Silva). ... French Ligue 1 side Toulouse appointed PASCAL DUPRAZ as its new head coach “following the sacking” of DOMINIQUE ARRIBAGE. Toulouse is “currently stuck in a relegation fight second from bottom with only four wins in 28 matches.” Dupraz had been with Ligue 2 side Evian since ’07 (ESPN, 3/2).
