The Australian Football League and Collingwood "have moved to address the concerns of Pies supporters inconvenienced by the venue change for the round one road game against Sydney." AFL GM of Clubs & Operations Travis Auld "met with Collingwood officials on Tuesday to develop a plan to help fans who had already made travel arrangements based on the game being scheduled at ANZ Stadium." Auld:
"Having spoken to Collingwood, the AFL is encouraging fans who have booked accommodation in the Homebush area to contact Collingwood. The AFL will work with Collingwood to offer alternate travel arrangements to the SCG for those fans" (THE AGE, 3/2).
Belgian top flight football club Oud-Heverlee Leuven has demanded that UEFA "monitor a number of its games after a number of its players were named as having potentially gambled on matches."
UEFA "has been asked to investigate if there was potential match manipulation linked to gambling patterns in recent matches of the Leuven-based club." The governing body "will also monitor OHL's upcoming matches for any possible irregularities" (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 3/1).
