WBA Super-Middleweight Title Fight Draws Close To 3 Million Viewers On Sat.1

German free-to-air TV channel Sat.1 "drew close to 3 million viewers for its broadcast of the boxing fight between Felix Sturm and Fedor Chudinov," according to Robert Meyer of QUOTENMETER. The WBA super-middleweight title fight, which was won by Sturm, attracted 2.82 million viewers on Saturday night. The number translated into 12.5% market share. Last year's bout between the two contenders drew 2.74 million viewers. In the target demographic 14-49, Sat.1's boxing program obtained a 9.6% share as 830,000 viewers tuned in. The network's pre-fight coverage drew 1.62 million viewers and had a 6.4% share in the target demo. The post-fight analysis obtained a 10.4% share in the target demo as 690,000 viewers tuned in (QUOTENMETER, 2/21).

EUROPA LEAGUE: QUOTENMETER's Manuel Weis reported German pay-TV network Sky recorded 760,000 viewers for its Europa League broadcasts on Thursday. In the target demo, the network drew a 2.9% share as 320,000 tuned in. Free-to-air TV channel Sport1 attracted 2.59 million viewers for its broadcast of the matchup between FC Augsburg and Liverpool. The number translated into a market share of 8.8%. In the target demo, the goalless draw obtained an 8.5% share as 940,000 tuned in (QUOTENMETER, 2/19).

IN FRANCE: L’ÉQUIPE reported Saturday’s Ligue 1 Paris St. Germain vs. Reims (4-1) match drew a record audience for Canal+ for its Saturday afternoon timeslot. The game attracted 1.1 million viewers translating into a 36% market share. The match drew a peak audience of 1.23 million viewers (L’ÉQUIPE, 2/21).
