National Rugby League Side Manly Will Stay At Brookvale Oval For '16

National Rugby League side Manly and the Warringah Council "finally reached a breakthrough in the row over rent at Brookvale," according to Sarah Swain of the Sydney DAILY TELEGRAPH. While nothing has been signed or voted on, the feuding parties have "agreed to terms" regarding the license for the full season at the ground. An arrangement over a season-long license at Fortress Brookvale is to be put to councilors where it is "expected to get the green light." The row started over the state of the pitch -- something Warringah Council, which pays almost A$1M ($710,000) a year running Brookvale Park -- "disputes." The club canceled its lease and "refused to pay last season's fees, until a secret-deal was reached" (DAILY TELEGRAPH, 2/15).
