More Than 7 Million Tune In To Watch DFB Pokal Quarterfinal Matchup On ARD

German public broadcaster ARD recorded more than 7 million viewers for its DFB Pokal (German Cup) broadcast on Wednesday, according to Robert Meyer of QUOTENMETER. The quarterfinal match between Bayern Munich and VfL Bochum drew 7.3 million viewers during the first half. The number translated into a market share of 22.3%. In the target demographic 14-49, the game obtained an 18.3% market share. Tuesday's DFB Pokal matchup between Borussia Dortmund and VfB Stuttgart drew a peak audience of 8.47 million viewers on ARD. Dortmund and Bayern advanced to the competition's semifinals (QUOTENMETER, 2/11).

IN FRANCE: L’ÉQUIPE reported the Coupe de France quarterfinal match between Paris St. Germain and Olympique de Lyon (3-0) drew 3.3 million viewers on France 3, 13.8% of the market share. The match was the most watched football match of the season for France Télévisions (L’ÉQUIPE, 2/11).

SB 50: LA AFICIÓN reported an audience study by HR Media Weekly found that 5.6 million people in the Valley of Mexico region -- which includes Mexico City -- tuned into Super Bowl 50 on Sunday. This meant "the equivalent of three out of 10 people in that area watched the game between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers." On average, each person watched the game for 90 minutes, which lasted four hours (LA AFICIÓN, 2/10).
