Channel 4 Signs Allianz As Rio 2016 Paralympics Coverage Sponsor

Channel 4 "signed up insurer Allianz to sponsor its coverage of the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games," according to Mark Sweney of the London GUARDIAN. The broadcaster, which is seeking two sponsors as it did with BT and Sainsbury’s for the London 2012 Paralympics, said that "the deal included Allianz funding a new original shorts series that will air through its on-demand service All 4." The sponsorship deal "also includes associated programming such as Adam Hills’s The Last Leg Live from Rio." Sponsorship of the live coverage, which will air from Sep. 7, "will be hosted by Clare Balding and Breaking Bad actor RJ Mitte, who played Walter White’s disabled son Walt Jr." The broadcaster said that 30 people with disabilities "are training for roles with its Rio production team" (GUARDIAN, 2/5).
