Former Arsenal striker COLIN KAZIM-RICHARDS "has been put on the transfer list by Feyenoord after threatening to beat up a Dutch journalist." Kazim-Richards, a Turkish int'l who played for Bury, Brighton, Sheffield United and Blackburn after being released by the Gunners, "was axed" for Friday’s clash with champions PSV Eindhoven after clashing with the reporter in front of boss GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST. Algemeen Dagblad football writer MIKOS GOUKA "had written an article claiming that Feyenood and club sponsors were not happy with the player’s behaviour" (London DAILY MIRROR, 1/16). ... Former British F1 world champion DAMON HILL said that it is "extremely unlikely" that a competitive female "will race in Formula One in his lifetime." Hill: "I'm absolutely assured by my wife and my two daughters there is no reason in the world why a woman couldn't beat a man, but I do have my doubts because I think that it's very very tough even for the guys to be competitive." His comments came after F1 CEO BERNIE ECCLESTONE said that a female on the grid "would not be taken seriously" (ITV, 1/17). ... USAIN BOLT said that he "feels let down by the level of corruption at athletics’ world governing body," but the six-time Olympic champion hit out at UK Athletics’ proposal to reset all world records, describing it as "pointless." With the sport lurching from one doping scandal to another, UK Athletics this week released "A Manifesto for Clean Athletics," which included a "controversial proposal to freeze all world records and replace them with new marks." Bolt: "As far as I’m concerned it’s really pointless. What's done is done, you have to just move forward and try to make the upcoming championships and Olympics and the next records as best as we can and just look forward to the future" (London TELEGRAPH, 1/16).
