Adidas Will Reportedly Continue As German National Football Team's Kit Supplier

Adidas reportedly "leads in the battle for the upcoming kit supply mandate of the German national football team," according to Gabriel Wagner of SPONSORs. German media outlet Mopo reports that adidas "has won the duel against Nike and will continue to supply the team after its current deal expires in '18." The new contract will reportedly run for 10 years and has an estimated value of €750M-€800M ($818M-$873M). Adidas currently pays about €25M ($27M) annually for the rights. The German Football Federation (DFB) nor adidas "have commented on the report." The federation said that various offers "will be presented during an executive meeting." DFB Media Dir Ralf Köttker: "We want to be transparent. Only after that will there be a unanimous decision." The DFB's next executive meeting "will reportedly take place in March" (SPONSORs, 1/15).
