Media Notes: Saran Media Retains Turkish Brodacast Rights To English Premier League

Saran Media has "retained the Turkish broadcast rights to the English Premier League." The Turkish media company "will continue to hold the rights to all 380 matches per season until 2019." As well as Turkey, Saran Media "also holds Premier League broadcast rights in a host of territories across the Baltics, Caucasus, and Central Asia." The separate deal will not, however, "be renewed beyond the end of this season" (SOCCEREX, 1/12). ... Alan Shearer "will make his co-commentary debut" on Tuesday on BBC Radio 5 Live's coverage of Newcastle against ManU. The former England striker "has served as a pundit for BBC's football coverage, but he will step into the gantry for the first time at St James' Park." He "will join" lead commentator Ian Dannis on the fixture. Shearer "has been a regular on Match of the Day since his retirement, and his punditry work for the BBC also includes the last three World Cups" (London DAILY MAIL, 1/12). ... Australian wine brand Jacob's Creek and Novak Djokovic released the second series of the "Made By" film series. The new set of films, "Made By Moments" reveals memorable moments in Djokovic's life. The series features two films and a new star alongside Novak, his wife Jelena Djokovic (Jacob's Creek).
