Marketplace Roundup: Dirk Nowitzki Signs Deal With Healthcare Product Brand Bauerfeind

German NBA player Dirk Nowitzki "has signed a deal with healthcare product brand Bauerfeind." It is only the third partnership deal for Nowitzki. The 37-year-old Dallas Mavericks player "will become a global ambassador for the brand." In his career, the 7-foot forward "has only starred in ads for financial insitute Ing-Diba and supplier Nike." Length and financials "were not disclosed" (SPONSORs, 1/8). ... Second Bundesliga side 1860 Munich "agreed to a new partnership with LogoEnergie." The deal "is expected to include ad space in camera view and special deals for fans." Financial terms of the deal "were not disclosed" (SPONSORs, 1/8). ... The French Professional Football League (LFP) announced HTC as its new technological partner. The agreement will last three-and-a-half years. The brand will be present on all distribution channels of the LFP: TV, tablets, smartphones and digital platforms (SPORTSMARKETING, 1/9). ... The Int'l North West 200 will "have the support of Vauxhall Motors Ltd for the 2016 races on May 10-14." This is the fourth year in a row the car brand "will be the principal sponsors of Northern Ireland’s leading motorcycle event" (COLERAINE TIMES, 1/7). ... Serie A club FC Bologna "signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with IMA." The Bolognese-based multinational, a manufacturer of packaging machines for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and food, "will become a second-tier premium partner" of the side. Its branding "will appear on pitchside advertising hoardings at the club's home Stadio Renato Dall'Ara." No financial terms "were released" (SOCCEREX, 1/8). ... Adidas has signed its latest tennis brand ambassador Tomas Berdych, poaching the No. 6 player "from previous clothing sponsor H&M." Berdych "is now the highest ranking male tennis player" on adidas' books for full kit, after No. 2 Andy Murray "departed to Under Armour" in '14 (MARKETING MAGAZINE, 1/8).
