Portuguese Football Club Signs Broadcast, Sponsorship Deal With NOS Audiovisuais

Portuguese football club Sporting signed a "broadcast and sponsorship deal with Portuguese media corporation NOS Audiovisuais," according to SOCCEREX. Under the deal, NOS will become the main sponsor of Sporting for the next 12-and-a-half seasons, beginning immediately, and "the official broadcaster of the club's home games" starting from July 1, 2018, for 10 years, until the end of the '27-28 season. NOS will "also take the rights to sell advertising space at Sporting's Jose Alvalade Stadium over the same period." Additionally, NOS will take over the distribution rights for Sporting TV, the club's official channel, from July 1, 2017, when the current contract with PPTV expires. Official financial details were not released, "but the deal is estimated to be worth slightly less than the record-breaking broadcast deal signed between Sporting's Primeira Liga rivals FC Porto and Portugal Telecom" (SOCCEREX, 1/4).
