England's Euro 2016 Clash With Wales To Be Shown Live On BBC

The home nations clash between England and Wales at next summer’s Euro 2016 Championship "will be shown by the BBC," according to Daniel Prescott of the London DAILY MAIL. ITV was given the pick of the fixtures "after winning the toss, but have instead chosen to show England’s opening clash with Russia because of timings." The Russia game "will be played at the peak commercial time of 8pm on a Saturday night in Marseille." ITV initially "wanted to show the Three Lions against Wales" as its first pick, but its request to change the kick-off time to 8pm was refused by UEFA. The blockbuster fixture between the two "will instead be shown live on the BBC on Thursday June 16 with a 2pm kick-off" (DAILY MAIL, 12/15).
