DANIEL ANGELICI was re-elected president of Argentine first division club Boca Juniors. He defeated JORGE AMOR AMEAL and JOSÉ BERALDI in the election, in which 26,136 club members voted. Regarding the club's immediate future, Angelici said, "RODOLFO ARRUABARRENA will remain the coach. We will sign a new contract on Wednesday" (EFE, 12/7). ... French Ligue 2 side Stade Brestois President YVON KERMAREC “is stepping down in a few weeks, six months before the end of his term.” Kermarec was elected to a three-year term in May ’13. French D2 Women’s Handball side Brest Bretagne Handball co-President DENIS LE SAINT “has been the man favored to succeed Kermarec” (L’ÉQUIPE, 12/7). ... The German Gymnastics League (DTL) has elected JENS-UWE KUNZE as its new president. Kunze is the managing director of the Berlin Gymnastics and Recreational Sports Union (BTB). The DTL's new three-member exec committee also includes MIKO WOHLFAHRT and ROSEMARIE NAPP (SID, 12/7). ... Asian Tour CEO MIKE KERR has resigned, the body revealed on Monday, "at a time of high uncertainty with negotiations underway for a merger with the European Tour." Kerr's position had been rumored to "be in jeopardy since the tour's players held a meeting at the Macau Open in October," where they voiced disquiet about the proposed creation of a "mega-tour straddling the two continents and his handling of the merger" (AFP, 12/7). ... The Int'l Waterski & Wakeboard Federation announced in Switzerland Sunday the appointment of Asian Waterski & Wakeboard Confederation President PAUL FONG as its new exec director. He will work closely with IWWF President KUNO RITSCHARD and the exec board. The appointment will start on March 1. Fong studied economics in the U.S. at the University of South Florida and Rollins College Florida, where he was also a waterski team member. He was a member of the IWWF Tournament Council from '00-08, and a member of the World Cup Committee and Wakeboard Council (IWWF). ... Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment named N.Y. Road Runners VP/Business Development & Strategic Partnerships JOHN GASSNER senior VP/global partnerships for Barclays Center, the Nets, Islanders and Nassau Coliseum (THE DAILY). ... The Sports Rights Owners Coalition re-elected its current Chair MARK LICHTENHEIN "for a second two-year term." Lichtenhein, the former head of television & digital media for golf's European Tour and Ryder Cup, "will lead SROC's intervention and activities across a wide range of Intellectual Property issues, with a particular current focus on the European Commission's Digital Single Market proposals" (ISPORTCONNECT, 12/7). ... Former MLB and Wasserman Media Group sales CEO JOHN BRODY is joining WWE as exec VP/Global Sales & Partnerships. In his new position, Brody will be selling the WWE Network, broadcast, digital and traditional sponsorship assets. He will report to WWE Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer MICHELLE WILSON. Brody has been consulting with WWE. Brody, a SBD/SBJ Forty Under 40 HOFer, was NFL senior VP/sponsorship & media sales from '13-14 (THE DAILY, 12/7).
