English Premier League Finalizes Broadcast Rights Sales In Italy, Portugal

The EPL "agreed new broadcast contracts in Italy and Portugal as it continues its latest round of international rights sales," according to SOCCEREX. In Italy, Sky Italia "will provide live coverage of the league across its various platforms on an exclusive basis for the next three years," beginning with the '15-16 season. In Portugal, meanwhile, Sport TV "has reclaimed the country’s Premier League rights after losing out to Benfica TV in 2013." Sport TV "will have the rights to all 380 games each season, with the Portuguese press reporting that the network plans to show up to 200 of those live per year" (SOCCEREX, 12/7).
