Scottish Side Hearts To Stay At Tynecastle, Unveils Plans For New Main Stand

Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian Owner Ann Budge revealed she "is set to build a new Main Stand at Tynecastle after reiterating the Gorgie ground will remain their spiritual home," according to Gavin Berry of the Scottish DAILY RECORD. Budge made the announcement as she spoke to the club’s shareholders at the AGM where figures showed £7M turnover. Budge "recently admitted she had no definitive answer on whether Tynecastle’s 100-year-old main stand should be rebuilt or whether Hearts should seek a new home." But speaking at a packed Gorgie Suite on Thursday, she said, "In case anyone is still in doubt, the Board has decided that Hearts future is here at Tynecastle. I am very confident that by this time next year we will be well down the road in terms of developing our new Main Stand ... We are well on the way to securing the land that will make that possible -- some land has already been purchased -- the remainder is in the final stages of discussion" (DAILY RECORD, 12/3).
