Olympiakos striker Alfred Finnbogason "was hit by a flare as he walked on the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium pitch" with his teammates. Referee Andreas Pappas called off the Greek Superleague match 30 minutes after the scheduled kickoff. After the decision was announced, "fans invaded the pitch" (BBC, 11/21). ... FIFA is to trial the ADAMS database management system during the Club World Cup in Japan in December, "in a move likely to be welcomed" by the World Anti-Doping Agency as it "battles through a challenging period." ADAMS is the main book-keeping/information-sharing tool of the doping control movement, "a secure web-based clearing house" where data on testing results, therapeutic use exemptions and anti-doping rule violations is collected and stored (INSIDE THE GAMES, 11/20). ... Police have arrested a man "on suspicion of trying to punch" EPL side Crystal Palace's bald eagle mascot Kayla during a match at Selhurst Park. The Croydon Advertiser reported a 34-year-old from Welling was arrested on "suspicion of violent disorder and attempted criminal damage" at the League Cup match against Charlton Athletic (London GUARDIAN, 11/20).
