LFP President Javier Tebas Says La Liga Expects To Earn $2.15B From TV Rights In '20

Spanish Football League (LFP) President Javier Tebas discussed the league's audiovisual situation "at a crucial moment as the auction for the sale of the TV rights for the next three seasons is open," according to SUPERDEPORTE. He admitted that he hopes to obtain a minimum of €1B ($1.07B) on the next contract, but also said that if the league does not raise €2B ($2.15B) for the '19-20 season, the league "will not have a bright future." Tebas: "Our expectations are: from the current auction we should earn €1 billion, when we are currently earning €600 million ($644M). ... This process that is beginning is very important. ... If we do not earn €2 billion in '19-20 on the national market we will not be able to compete with the Premier League" (SUPERDEPORTE, 11/18).
