PETER CASSALETTE has been "named as the new president" of German club TSV 1860 Munich. Cassalette, a former head of market management and communications at the Allianz Global Assistance insurance group, "won 306 of a possible 463 votes at the club's elections." He succeeds GERHARD MAYRHOFER, who "left the role in June of this year." The club "also announced" HANS SITZBERGER as Cassalette's VP (SOCCEREX, 11/16). ... Former Indian Premier League CEO SUNDAR RAMAN will "join the Reliance Industries Limited as its CEO -- Sports." He will be responsible for "consolidation and integration of RIL's sports portfolio including its foundation activities in sports." Over the course of the last few years, RIL has "invested in a variety of sports properties and is now positioned as one of India's leading sports businesses." RIL is involved in multiple sports (cricket, football, basketball, tennis and golf) "either on its own or through joint ventures" (PTI, 11/16). ... ZAN TABAK, who currently coaches Spanish Basketball League (ACB) club Montakit Fuenlabrada, will be the new coach of Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv "after an agreement reached by Fuenlabrada, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Tabak." Tabak said, "I am aware of the inconvenience this means for Montakit Fuenlabrada after just six games played and I regret it, but at the same I time I hope everyone understands that a great professional opportunity that I could not pass up has presented itself" (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 11/16). ... Former Aston Villa Manager PAUL LAMBERT has been appointed manager of Blackburn Rovers, "replacing the sacked GARY BOWYER." Lambert is Blackburn's "seventh permanent manager in seven years." Former Rovers player and youth team coach ALAN IRVINE "rejoins the club as assistant" and former head of youth coaching ROB KELLY also returns to Ewood Park (BBC, 11/15).
