Pakistani cricketer YOUNIS KHAN announced his retirement from one-day internationals, and said that Wednesday's match against England in Abu Dhabi "would be his last." The 37-year-old "remains a batting mainstay in test cricket but has not been in great form in one-dayers" (REUTERS, 11/11). ... Former Australian PM JOHN HOWARD "has been named to replace" RICHIE BENAUD on the Bradman Foundation at a gala dinner on Wednesday night. The self-confessed "cricket tragic" was "thrilled to receive the honour at the function at the Sydney Cricket Ground." Benaud was a patron of the Bradman Foundation for 14 years and was remembered as a "hands on" operator who believed in the principles of the foundation (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 11/12). ... A basketball player who lost her lower left leg in a bus accident "is set to become the first disabled European player to play in a professional team." NATASA KOVACEVIC "will make her debut for Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday" (BBC, 11/10).
