Rio 2016 Olympic Football Match Schedule Released

The match schedule for the next men's and women's 2016 Olympic football tournaments has been unveiled, with the Maracana stadium set to host both finals. It has also been revealed that the opening game of Rio 2016, which will be the first group game in the women's competition, will be played at the Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, kicking off at 1pm local time on Aug. 3. In total, seven stadiums complete the line-up, with 2014 World Cup host venues in Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Manaus, Salvador and Sao Paulo all ready (FIFA). 

MENS

  • Opening Match, Aug. 4: Brasilia 
  • Quarter-finals, Aug. 13: Brasilia, Salvador, Belo Horizonte and Sao Paulo
  • Semi-finals, Aug. 17: Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro
  • Bronze Medal Match, Aug. 20: Belo Horizonte
  • Gold Medal Match, Aug. 20: Rio de Janeiro
WOMENS:
  • Opening Match, Aug. 3: Rio de Janeiro 
  • Quarter-finals, Aug. 12: Brasilia, Salvador, Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte
  • Semi-finals, Aug. 16: Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro
  • Bronze Medal Match, Aug. 19, Sao Paulo
  • Gold Medal Match, Aug. 19: Rio de Janeiro
