Qatar To Host FIBA 3x3 All Stars Until '20; Five Bids Turned In For EuroBasket 2017

FIBA and the Qatar Basketball Federation extended the contract to organize the FIBA 3x3 All Stars for an additional five years, until '20. The FIBA 3x3 All Stars is the season-ending event of 3-on-3 basketball and the most lucrative one for the players, with $120,000 in prize money. The '15 edition will feature some new activities, including the FIBA 3x3 Gala Dinner and the FIBA 3x3 Awards, where the discipline’s best players and organizers will be honored. The 2015 FIBA 3x3 World Tour winners (FIBA 3x3 All Stars reigning champions Novi Sad Al Wahda [UAE]) and the winners of the FISU 3x3 World University League (Montreal UQAM [CAN]) were the first two teams to stamp their ticket for this year's edition, which will be held on Dec. 11.

FIVE BIDS FOR EUROBASKET: FIBA Europe announced on Thursday that Finland, Israel, Poland, Romania and Turkey all confirmed official bids to organize EuroBasket 2017 before Monday's deadline. As was the case for EuroBasket 2015 there are three hosting options available: organize the whole event, one group phase group or a group phase group and the final phase (FIBA).
