It "is the moment of madness" that may cost VALENTINO ROSSI more than just his shot at his 10th motorcycle racing world championship. On the sixth lap of the Malaysian MotoGP, Rossi appeared to run MARC MARQUEZ off the track, "the Repsol Honda rider crashing to the ground." Race direction investigated the incident after the race, "electing to hand Rossi a penalty for Valencia but allowing him to keep his third-place finish" (FOX SPORTS, 10/25). ... XABIER AZKARGORTA is suing his former club, Bolivian first division side Bolívar, for around €70,000 ($77,100) for "assets unpaid." Azkargorta, currently coaching Oriente Petrolero, left Bolívar in May (MARCA, 10/25). ... National Rugby League winger DANIEL VIDOT is “embarking on a code switch even more unlikely than Hayne's sensational move to the NFL after claiming to have secured a deal with the WWE.” Vidot revealed on his Facebook page that “he has been offered a three-year deal by the sports entertainment firm following a three-day trial” at its performance center in Orlando (STUFF, 10/25). ... Top Rank promoter BOB ARUM said that MANNY PACQUIAO will end his career with a fight on April 9 “before retiring to a life of politics in his home country. Pacquiao, 36, serves as a congressman for his Sarangani province, “but he will run for one of 24 national senate seats” (ESPN, 10/25)
