Media Notes: FC United Of Manchester Rejects BBC Request To Move FA Cup Tie

National League North side FC United of Manchester has "rejected a request from the BBC to reschedule their upcoming FA Cup tie." The club "was asked to move the kick-off time" of its fourth qualifying round tie against Sporting Khalsa as part of the broadcaster’s new "BBC Mobile Match of the Day" concept. The club, however, believes that the concept "will only disrupt" its preparations for the game and "criticized the inconvenience it could cause supporters" (INDEPENDENT, 10/20). ... Eleven Sports Network acquired rights with the Spanish Basketball League (ACB) to broadcast the '15-16 ACB season in Belgium and Singapore. Eleven Sports Network will have the right to broadcast two games per round from the Liga Endesa, as well as action from the ACB's other official competitions, the Supercopa Endesa and Copa del Rey (Eleven Sports Network). ... West Ham United announced a "partnership with online search engine Storm.it." Storm "built a new mobile app and web browser for the club which helps fans raise money for West Ham's charitable foundation." Every time a fan buys something online through the Storm platform, "the foundation receives a percentage of the sale from the retailer" (SOCCEREX, 10/21). ... Aviva Premiership Rugby fans in Ireland have been guaranteed match highlights for the next two years after a deal confirmed by Premiership Rugby with Setanta. The Irish channel will show the Aviva Premiership Rugby highlights program for every round both during this season and '16-17 (Premiership Rugby).
