Franchise Notes: Bayern Munich Fans Protest At Arsenal Ticket Cost

A Bayern Munich fans' group "turned up late for their Champions League group match at Arsenal in protest at ticket prices for the game." FC Bayern Worldwide "did not enter the Emirates for the first five minutes of the match" which had a £64 ($98) ticket price. There "was applause by Gunners fans when the group eventually took their seats." Bayern's fans also displayed a banner which read, "£64 a ticket. But without fans football is not worth a penny" (BBC, 10/20). ... Elite League ice hockey side Sheffield Steelers "risked the wrath of One Direction fans by taking on the world's biggest boy band in a row over a postponed fixture." The club saw its away match against Belfast Giants at the SSE Arena "postponed to allow the pop group to reschedule a concert." Steelers Owner Tony Smith called the postponement "unacceptable"  and said it was "not the end of the matter" (BBC, 10/21).
