England Fans Request Urgent Meeting With FA Chair Greg Dyke Over Euro 2016 Tickets

The FA is "facing simmering discontent" from its traveling supporters just when the demand for tickets for an easily accessible Euro 2016 in France "is going to be hugely over-subscribed," according to Charles Sale of the London DAILY MAIL. The issues "are such that fans have requested an urgent meeting" with FA Chair Greg Dyke following a stand-off with the England Supporters Travel Club organizers. The main grouse -- as it has been throughout the qualifying campaign -- "is the FA first awarding double loyalty points for Wembley rather than away games, which have now been given equal status." Fans "want the away trips to count double as they did before Brazil 2014 in deciding a member’s place in the queue for major championship tickets." The other complaints "include poor customer service from the FA, ticketing, fan events, a sub-standard website and allegations about members being put under covert surveillance as part of a security operation" (DAILY MAIL, 10/12).
