Marketplace Roundup: Dutch Eredivisie Extends Ball Supply Deal With Derbystar

Holland's Eredivisie renewed its football supply partnership with Derbystar for the next four seasons. The league agreed to an extension with Deventrade, the parent company of Derbystar and distributor Sportdirect.com, that will see the Derbystar Brillant APS "used as its official and exclusive match ball." The partnership began in '06. The financial terms were not released (SOCCEREX, 10/7). ... Commonwealth Games England named Shakespeare Martineau its first ever official legal partner. The law firm will partner with England through the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games and the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games (Commonwealth Games England). ... Entertainment complex SKYCITY Auckland and National Rugby League club Vodafone Warriors have extended their partnership for another two years. The resort's name will be featured prominently on the lower back of the club's NRL jersey while SKYCITY will also be the venue for all major Vodafone Warriors events such as the annual awards event which was again held in the SKYCITY Convention Centre recently. SkyCity will also have naming rights to the club's membership program (Warriors). ... Singha Corp. "increased its support to Thai-owned Premier League club Leicester City" to 250M baht ($6.98M) in a new three-year contract. Leicester city Vice Chair Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said, "This deal is important to our 'Fox Hunt' project. It is our football academy where we have 16 young Thai players training and studying in England for two years." Singha is also a partner with Man U, Chelsea and Man City (BANGKOK POST, 10/7). ... Claro Brasil renewed its ties with the Rio Open and will be the master sponsor of the tournament of the ATP Tour 500 and WTA Int'l series for the third consecutive year. As it has in the past, the operator will give its name to the event (Claro Brasil). ... Nottingham Rugby announced The Dairy has signed a three-year deal to be the Green and White's official design and marketing partners. The West Bridgford-based company is a full service marketing and design agency (Nottingham Rugby).
