Barcelona Delegates To Vote On Shirt Sponsor At Oct. 25 General Assembly

Barcelona delegates will vote on the club's new shirt sponsor at its General Assembly on Oct. 25, according to Didac Piferrer of MARCA. Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu will propose a new sponsorship deal that he -- and the club -- has been "negotiating for months with several companies." Depending on how delegates vote, Qatar Airways "could be dropped as the first team's shirt sponsor." Bartomeu said during the presidential campaign that he had agreed to a sponsorship deal with "an Asian company linked to the technologies market" (MARCA, 10/1).

NEW MEDICAL SYSTEMS PARTNER: Starting this season, Toshiba Medical Systems Europe will be an official partner of Barcelona in the field of medical services for five years. The European subsidiary of the Toshiba Medical Systems Corp. will supply 13 ultrasound systems and one MRI system to the club's medical center (Barcelona).
