Canadian Company Cervélo Cycles Becomes Title Sponsor Of Bigla Team

Cervélo Cycles "will join the pro women’s peloton as a title sponsor of the Cervélo-Bigla team in 2016," according to VELONEWS. The Canadian company "announced over the weekend that it will support the Swiss team," which includes riders such as Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, Carmen Small, Lotta Lepistö, Lisa Klein and Clara Koppenburg. Cervélo Managing Dir Robert Reijers said, "It’s an exciting time for the team and for women’s pro cycling. Female participation in our sport is exploding globally. One way we support women’s engagement is by supporting pro cycling." Cervélo "also sponsors the MTN-Qhubeka Pro Continental men’s team" (VELONEWS, 9/28). CYCLING NEWS wrote Cervélo "was frame supplier of the Bigla team this year" and is currently sponsor and supplies bikes for MTN. It will now have two flagship teams -- "one in the men's and one in the women's peloton for next season." A spokesperson for the manufacturer said, "This is yet another example of our belief in the sport at the elite level" (CYCLING NEWS, 9/27).
