LFP Creates New Committee To Oversee Promotions And Regulations

The Administration Council of the French Football League (LFP) announced the creation of a committee on the promotion and regulations, a “subject of much litigation between the LFP and the Federation of French Football,” according to 20 MINUTES. Former Professional Football Players’ Union (UCPF) President Jean-Pierre Louvel said, “The committee for the promotions and regulations between different divisions is in place. There will be three representatives from Premier 1, the UCPF and from National to start a dialogue on this subject.” Louvel admitted that the “precise date of the first meeting is not known yet,” but explained that FFF President Noël Le Graët wants “it to happen quickly.” The question of the regulations and promotions between Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 is “the major conflict between the Ligue and the Federation and yielded a fracture between L1 and L2, creating the L1 union 'Premier 1'" (20 MINUTES, 9/24).
