Marketplace Roundup: Formula E Partners With Air Quality Movement CleanSpace

Formula E on Tuesday announced a partnership with air quality movement CleanSpace. The two will collaborate to tackle air pollution caused by transportation. Formula E will become a strategic partner -- encouraging its employees, teams, drivers and fans to join the CleanSpace movement -- and a reward partner (Formula E). ... Heineken announced its sponsorship deal with English rugby side Wasps RFC to become the official lager and cider partner of the club and the Ricoh Arena. The company will “supply all beer and cider to the Midlands venue, whether guests are visiting the Ricoh Arena for sport, business or entertainment.” Heineken will be supporting the refurbishment of “many of the bars around the Ricoh Arena and will also create brand areas and pop-up fanzones on Wasps match days” (COVENTRY TELEGRAPH, 9/22). ... English Premier league side Southampton sponsor Veho has donated its shirt sponsorship for next month's home match against Leicester City to charity Breast Cancer Now. The Saints will wear the Breast Cancer Now logo on their kits when the Foxes come to Southampton on Oct. 17 (Southampton). ... Stade de France is making upgrades to its communications network infrastructure and signed CommScope as the official supplier for its telecom and IT networks. As part of the deal, CommScope will provide approximately 70 kilometers of Systimax LazrSPEED multimode fiber cabling to connect almost 1,000 high-bandwidth Wi-Fi access points and 400 IP televisions all across the stadium (CommScope). ... Alan & Thomas Insurance Group extended its partnership with AFC Bournemouth. The independent insurance broker has been awarded the Chartered Broker status by the Chartered Insurance Institute (AFC Bournemouth). ... Italian Lega Pro side Catania announced new sponsorship deals with Muracel, Bacco and EcoGruppo Italia. Muracel "has become the club's main sponsor and the company's logo will feature on the front of the team's shirts." Bacco will "feature below the number on the back of Catania's shirts." EcoGruppo Italia "joins as a co-sponsor and its logo will adorn the front of Catania's jerseys" (SOCCEREX, 9/22). ... German direct bank ING-DiBa "has extended its agreement with NBA Dallas Mavericks player Dirk Nowitzki until at least '17." Nowitzki and the bank have been partners since '03 (MARKENARTIKEL MAGAZIN, 9/22). ... The Canadian Football League announced that Kal Tire is now an official partner and the official tire retailer of the CFL. The league also announced that a new partnership has been reached with BFGoodrich Tires, which will become the official tire of the CFL (CFL). ... Gillette announced Neymar as its new ambassador for Latin America. Gillette is the official sponsor of Barcelona in Latin America until '17. Aside from the advert with its new ambassador, Gillette launched its new video #mejorqueayer (#betterthanyesterday) which revolves around a famous answer given by Neymar in an interview a few years ago and that serves as a central tenet for the promotion of the association. When he was asked if he wanted to be the best in the world, Neymar responded that he would like to better than yesterday every day (Barcelona).

EZTD ENTERS FRENCH MARKET: Online binary options trading firm EZTD signed a three-year partnership through the '18 season with Ligue 1 side Monaco as the club's online fx and binary partner. It is the fifth such deal EZTrader has signed in the past year with major countries across Europe, making it one of the leading binary options trading platforms in the region. EZTrader will receive shared marketing materials and publicity with the club. It will also have extensive advertising rights at home games for Monaco at the Stade Louis II, appearing on the digital LED boards as well as giant screen advertisements and coverage on the interview backdrop (Monaco).

CARDIFF BLUES INK DEALS: Pro12 rugby side Cardiff Blues announced a new sponsorship deal with CEP as its official sports compression partner. It includes the fitting and provision of sports compression garments to the team for training and recovery. The club also named Cooke & Arkwright, Wales' largest independent commercial property specialist, an official supplier to the region (Cardiff Blues).
