Franchise Notes: MCC Votes In Favor Of New 'Provisional' Membership Category

The Melbourne Cricket Club voted in favor of the introduction of a new "provisional" membership category in response to its ever-growing waiting list. Until Tuesday, the MCC required 60% of its membership "to be full members with the remainder classified as restricted members." But that is no longer the case after a club ballot in which 67% of nearly 19,000 votes cast were in favor of a third membership category. The MCC "intends to introduce 10,000 provisional members" in time for the '15-16 cricket season and 50,000 over the next 10 years (THE AGE, 9/15). ... Liverpool will launch its first full-time coaching program in the UAE. Together with partner Dubai-based sports and events management company PESCO, the club will deliver ongoing player development programs to youth within a network of schools in the country. The youth coaching project, which will initially focus on schools in Dubai, will officially start in October (Liverpool).
