Barcelona on Monday named FRANCESCO CALVO its new commercial director. Calvo previously served as sales manager for Serie A club Juventus. He will join the club on Oct. 1. Also on Oct. 1, ARNO TRABESINGER will take over as manager of the club's American offices in N.Y. He previously worked as managing director for int'l agency WWP (Barcelona). ... NICK DAVIES will be the director of the IAAF president's office and HUW ROBERTS will serve as the body's senior counsel. Roberts is leading a review of the IAAF's constitution and corporate governance as part of the modernization process (IAAF). ... DAICHI SUZUKI, the current head of the Japanese swimming federation and a 1988 Olympic swimming champion in the 100 backstroke, will become the head of the new Japan Sports Agency in October. The organization's task is to integrate sports administration into one place, particularly as the country prepares to host the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics (SWIMMING WORLD, 9/11). ... WWE promoted RAJAN MEHTA to Exec VP & Chief Technology Officer. He will continue to report to Chief Strategy & Financial Officer GEORGE BARRIOS (WWE).
